1. Who is responsible

Turath (the mobile app and turaath.so) is operated by SEETO COMMUNICATION LIMITED, registered in Kenya (company number PVT-XYULAE8K), House of Leather, Kilimani Road, Kilimani, Nairobi, Kenya · P.O. 2. Information we collect

  • Account: your phone number (verified with a one-time code sent by Telegram or WhatsApp), or the identifier, name and email address from Google or Apple sign-in.
  • Student profile: name (including the Arabic name printed on certificates), gender, education level, country and city of residence, and — optionally — birth date and photo.
  • Family members you add to your account: the same profile details, provided by you as the account holder.
  • Learning activity: enrolments, progress, quiz and exam answers and results, certificates, followed scholars, listening history and feedback you send.
  • Payments: what was paid for, amount, method, status and references; the wallet number for mobile-money payments; receipt images or text you upload. Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments are handled by our reseller Creem — we receive the payment result and basic customer details (such as email and country) but never your card number.
  • Device and usage: push-notification tokens, app version, crash reports and anonymous usage statistics, and basic website analytics (privacy-friendly, without advertising cookies).
  • Location: if you allow it, your phone's location is used on your device to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. We do not store your precise location on our servers.

3. How we use it

  • To create and secure your account and sign you in.
  • To provide programs, exams, grades, certificates (with the name and, if you choose, photo you provide) and books, and to let anyone verify a certificate by its serial number.
  • To process payments, prevent fraud, handle refunds and keep financial records required by law.
  • To send notifications you need (lessons, exams, payments) and to answer support requests.
  • To keep the service working and improve it (crash reports, aggregated statistics).

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Who we share it with

Only with service providers that help us run Turath, under their own security and privacy obligations:

  • Google Firebase (authentication, push notifications, crash reports, analytics) and Apple / Google sign-in;
  • Telegram and WhatsApp (delivering sign-in codes);
  • WaafiPay (mobile-money payments) and Creem (card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments, as reseller and merchant of record);
  • our hosting and file-storage providers.

Certificate details (name, program, date, serial) are visible to anyone who checks a certificate's serial. We may disclose information when the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. Payment records are kept as long as accounting and tax laws require. Issued certificates remain verifiable unless you ask us to withdraw them.

6. Your choices and rights

  • View and edit your profile in the app.
  • Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion — email [email protected] or use account deletion.
  • Turn off notifications or location access in your phone's settings at any time.

7. Children

Children use Turath through a parent's or guardian's account: the account holder adds them as family members and provides their details. We do not knowingly let children under 13 create their own accounts. If you believe a child's information was given to us without permission, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use encrypted connections, access controls and restricted storage to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version, and important changes are announced in the app.
